Christmas Eve was moved to our home this year because my grandpa recently had a hospital stay so rather than invade their house, we just had everyone here. I must say I really enjoyed myself. Every room of the house (and I mean EVERY) was filled with family. Kids running everywhere, laughter and hugs filled the air.
My grandmother gives all the "little kiddos" presents. Let me tell you that is a site to see. A room full of little ones waiting patiently as you pass out everyones present. They all sit in a big circle and wait til each "cousin" has a present and then someone tells them to "GO". The next thing you know there is wrapping paper flying through the air. It is so sweet, crazy, and nuts....and I LOVE IT!!!!
The Adults do a gift exchange as well, however we do it men grouped together, and women grouped together. Everyone draws a number and then we start picking presents. Basically you DO NOT want to be number 1 because you definatly are NOT getting the gift you picked. It is basically "Rob your neighbor" the ideal situation is to get the last number. Which this year I was lUCKY enough to get. I was sooo happy because every year my grandmother puts one of her Christmas nativities in the present pile and EVERY year I have it for about a minute and someone takes it....well not this year :) Yep, I have NO Shame, I took it from my lil cousin (sorry Danielle). So I will be proudly displaying this year round. I consider it a VERY valuable item, one that my grandmother has had for years and I absolutly cannot put it in the attic, I just love it way to much. Kev ended up with some sort of ax thingy (it looks like a potential murder weapon). Needless to say, it has been taken to the garage for safe keeping. lol
To all of the family in Arizona, we MISS you all sooo much and hope to see you all this summer. We wish we could have spent some time with you this holiday season.
